A MASTERPIECE OF WATCHMAKING MEISTERSINGER’S FASCINATING STRATOSCOPE WITH ITS OPULENT MOON PHASE COMPLICATION – NOW WITH A GOLDEN MOON.
Of all the masterpieces MeisterSinger has produced in recent years, the Stratoscope is undoubtedly among the most impressive. Its soft transition from sunburst blue to black portrays the night sky, while in the upper third, the photorealistic, almost three-dimensional moon majestically orbits the Earth. Originally launched in 2021 with a white moon, the popular moon phase watch in a 43-mm case is now presented in a new, second version with a golden moon and matching golden hour markers.
Anyone who has witnessed it knows of its existence: the golden moon. The golden yellow appearance of the moon often results from a mixture of the angle of incidence of the moonlight on the earth and the prevailing atmospheric conditions. A phenomenon that sometimes makes us forget the time and creates unique moments to remember. As with the white moon, the golden moon, along with the needle-shaped hands, numerals, and hour markers, glows strongly in the dark. Manfred Brassler, founder and managing director, explains: “When we do something, we do it right. If we make a moon phase watch, it must be mechanically excellent. And the moon must be as big and as beautiful as possible. And in particular with this golden version of the Stratoscope I have the feeling: Mission accomplished.
All dreaming aside, however, we should not forget that the Stratoscope is a highly accurate instrument of astronomical measurement. It is powered by the MeisterSinger moon phase module MSLuna, which is based on the Swiss-made Sellita SW220 automatic movement. In theory, once correctly set, the lunar phase indicator requires nothing more than a minor correction every 122 years.
